1 Chronicles 2

1These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

2Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

3The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah; three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanite. Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and he put him to death.

4Tamar, his daughter-in-law, bore Perez and Zerah to him. All the sons of Judah were five.

5The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.

6And the sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol, and Dara—five in all.

7And the sons of Karmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who acted unfaithfully regarding the devoted things.

8And the sons of Ethan: Azariah.

9The sons of Hezron who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

10Ram fathered Amminadab, and Amminadab fathered Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah.

11Nahshon fathered Salma, and Salma fathered Boaz.

12Boaz fathered Obed, and Obed fathered Jesse.

13And Jesse fathered his firstborn Eliab, Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third.

14Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth.

15Ozem the sixth, David the seventh.

16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel—three.

17Abigail bore Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.

18And Caleb son of Hezron fathered children by Azubah his wife, and by Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

19Azubah died, and Caleb took Ephrath as his wife, and she bore Hur to him.

20Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel.

21Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, and he took her when he was sixty years old, and she bore Segub to him.

22Segub fathered Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

23But Geshur and Aram took the villages of Jair from them, along with Kenath and its daughter towns—sixty cities. All these were the sons of Machir, the father of Gilead.

24After Hezron died in Caleb-ephrathah, Hezron’s wife Abijah bore to him Ashhur, the father of Tekoa.

25The sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron, were Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

26Jerahmeel also had another wife, and her name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

27The sons of Ram: Jerahmeel the firstborn, Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

28The sons of Onam were Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai were Nadab and Abishur.

29The name of Abishur’s wife was Abihail, and she bore to him Ahban and Molid.

30The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. Seled died without sons.

31The sons of Appaim: Ishi; and the sons of Ishi: Sheshan; and the sons of Sheshan: Ahlai.

32The sons of Jada, Shammai’s brother: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without sons.

33And the sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. And Sheshan had an Egyptian servant whose name was Jarha.

35Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as a wife, and she bore Attai to him.

36Attai fathered Nathan, and Nathan fathered Zabad.

37Zabad fathered Ephlal, and Ephlal fathered Obed.

38Obed fathered Jehu, and Jehu fathered Azariah.

39Azariah fathered Helez, and Helez fathered Eleasah.

40Eleasah fathered Sismai, and Sismai fathered Shallum.

41Shallum fathered Jekamiah, and Jekamiah fathered Elishama.

42And the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

43The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.

44Shema fathered Raham, the father of Jorkeam; and Rekem fathered Shammai.

45And the son of Shammai was Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth-zur.

46And Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez.

47The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.

48Caleb’s concubine Maacah bore Sheber and Tirhanah.

49Shepha fathered Sheva, the father of Machbenah and the father of Gibea; and Caleb’s daughter was Acsah.

50These were the sons of Caleb son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal, father of Kiriath-jearim.

51Salma, the father of Bethlehem; Hareph, the father of Beth-gader.

52And Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites.

53And the clans of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites. From these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.

54The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.

55and the families of the scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
