1 Enoch 1

1The words of Enoch’s blessing, with which he blessed the chosen and righteous who will be present on the day of distress, when all the evil and godless are removed.

2And Enoch answered and said: "A righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw a holy vision in the heavens, which the angels showed me; and from them I heard everything, and I understood what I saw—but not for this generation, but for a distant one that is to come."

3Concerning the chosen I spoke, and I uttered a parable about them: the Holy and Great One will come out from his dwelling.

4The God of eternity will tread from there upon Mount Sinai. He will appear in his encampment, and he will appear from heaven in the strength of his might.

5All will fear, and the Watchers will tremble. Fear and great trembling will seize them as far as the ends of the earth.

6The lofty mountains will quake, the high hills will be brought low, and they will melt like wax before the blaze.

7The earth will sink, and everything in the earth will be destroyed. Judgment will come upon all.

8He will make peace for the righteous and guard the chosen. Mercy will be upon them, and they will all belong to God. They will prosper and be blessed, and God’s light will shine for them.

9And behold, he comes with myriads of holy ones, to execute judgment upon them, and to destroy the wicked, and to rebuke all flesh for everything that the sinful and wicked have done and committed against him.
