Enoch 69
Fallen Angels Named and Judged
Open in the reader →1And after this judgment, they will terrify them and oppress them, because they showed this to those who dwell upon the dry land.
And these are the names of those angels, and these are their names: the first of them was Semyaza, the second Artaqifa, the third Armen, the fourth Kokabel, the fifth Turiel, the sixth Rumyal, the seventh Daniyal, the eighth Neqael, the ninth Baraqel, the tenth Azazel, the eleventh Armaros, the twelfth Batariel, the thirteenth Basasael, the fourteenth Hananel, the fifteenth Turiel, the sixteenth Simipesiel, the seventeenth Yeterel, the eighteenth Tumael, the nineteenth Turiel, the twentieth Teremael, and the twenty-first Te'azazel.
And these are the chiefs of their angels, and their names, and the commanders of their hundreds, and the commanders of their fifties, and the commanders of their tens.
And the name of the first was Yeqon; this is the one who led all the children of the angels astray, and brought them down upon the dry land, and led them astray through the daughters of men.
And the second, whose name was Asbe'el—this one taught the evil counsel to the holy sons of God, and led them astray so that they defiled their bodies with the daughters of men.
And the third was named Gadreel; this is the one who showed all the blows of death to the children of men, and he led Eve astray, and he showed the weapons of death to the sons of men—the shield and the breastplate and the sword for slaughter—and all the weapons of death to the children of men.
And from his hand they went out against those who dwell upon the dry ground, from that day and unto the age of ages.
And the fourth—his name was Penemue—this one showed the children of men the bitter and the sweet, and he showed them all the secrets of their wisdom.
And he taught humankind writing with ink and paper, and because of this many have gone astray from eternity to eternity, even to this day.
For men were not born for this: to strengthen their faith with pen and ink.
For human beings were not created except to be like the angels, so that they might remain pure and righteous; and death, which destroys everything, would not have touched them. But through this knowledge they are being destroyed, and through this power it is consuming me.
And the fifth was named Kasdeya. This is the one who showed the children of men all the evil blows of spirits and of demons, and the blows in the womb, so that the embryo miscarries, and the blow upon the soul: the bite of the serpent, and the blow that comes at noon—the son of the serpent whose name is Taba'et.
This is the secret of Kasbeel, the chief of the oath which he showed to the holy ones when he dwelt in glory on high, and its name is Biqa.
This one asked Mikael to show him the hidden name, so that they might remember it in the oath, and so that they might tremble before that name and oath, those who revealed to the children of men all that is hidden.
And this is the power of this oath, for it is mighty and firm; and he placed this oath, Aka'e, into the hand of Mika'el.
And these are the hidden things of this oath . . . and it is made firm by his oath, and heaven was suspended before the world was created, and by it forever.
And the earth was founded upon the waters, and from the hidden places of the mountains living waters come forth, from the creation of the world and forever.
And by that oath the sea was created, and as its foundation for the time of wrath he set sand for it, and it does not pass beyond it from the creation of the world and forever.
And by that oath the depths were made firm, and they stand and do not move from their place from eternity to eternity.
And by that oath the sun and the moon complete their courses, and they do not transgress their command forever.
And by that oath the stars complete their courses, and their names are called, and they answer from age to age and forever.
And likewise heaven, the spirits of the winds, and all the spirits, and their paths from all the gatherings of spirits.
And there are kept the sound of the thunder and the light of the lightning, and there are kept the storehouses of the hail and the storehouses of the hoarfrost, and the storehouses of the mist, and the storehouses of the rain and the dew.
All these will believe and give thanks before the Lord of Spirits, and they will bless with all their power, and their food will be in all thanksgiving; and they will give thanks and bless and exalt the name of the Lord of Spirits forever and ever.
And over them this oath became strong, and they are kept by it; and their paths are kept, and their courses do not perish.
And there was great joy among them, and they blessed and praised and exalted because the name of that Son of Man had been revealed to them.
And he sat upon the throne of his glory.
