2 Thessalonians 3

Paul Prays for Church Growth

1Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was among you,

2and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith.

3But the Lord is faithful, who will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

4And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do what we command.

5May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Messiah.

6We command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, to keep away from every brother who is walking disorderly and not according to the tradition that they received from us.

7For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we did not behave disorderly among you.

8nor did we eat bread from anyone free of charge, but with labor and hardship, working night and day so as not to burden any of you.

9not because we do not have the right, but in order to give ourselves to you as an example for you to imitate us.

10For even when we were with you, we kept commanding you this: if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.

11For we hear that some among you are walking disorderly, doing no work at all, but meddling.

12To such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus the Messiah that, working quietly, they should eat their own bread.

13But as for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.

14And if anyone does not obey our word through this letter, take note of that person; do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.

15And do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

17The greeting is by my own hand—Paul's—which is a sign in every letter; this is how I write.

18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.
