The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds from Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

And he said: Yahweh roars from Zion and gives his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the summit of Carmel dries up.

Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke it, because they threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.”

So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, and it will consume the citadels of Ben-hadad.

I will break the gate-bar of Damascus, and I will cut off the inhabitant from the Valley of Aven and the one who holds the scepter from Beth-eden; and the people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,” says Yahweh.

Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, because they carried away an entire population into exile to hand them over to Edom.”

So I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it will consume her citadels.

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,” says the Lord GOD.

Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, because they delivered up an entire population of exiles to Edom and did not remember a covenant of brotherhood.”

So I will send fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it will consume her citadels.

Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and destroyed his compassion; his anger tore continually, and he kept his wrath forever.”

So I will send fire upon Teman, and it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.

Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and for four, I will not revoke it, because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their border.”

I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it will consume her citadels, with a battle cry on the day of war, with a storm on the day of tempest.

And their king shall go into exile, he and his officials together, says Yahweh.
