Baruch 5

1Take off, O Jerusalem, the garment of your mourning and affliction, and put on forever the splendor of the glory from God.

2Put on the robe of the righteousness that comes from God, and place on your head the turban of the glory of the Eternal.

3For God will show your splendor to all under heaven.

4For your name will be called by God forever, “Peace of righteousness and glory of godliness.”

5Rise up, Jerusalem, and stand on the height, and look toward the east, and see your children gathered from the setting of the sun to its rising, at the word of the Holy One, rejoicing in the remembrance of God.

6For they went out from you on foot, being led away by enemies, but God brings them to you, carried with glory as on a royal throne.

7For God has ordered that every high mountain and the everlasting hills be made low, and the valleys be filled for the leveling of the ground, so that Israel may walk safely in the glory of God.

8And the forests as well as every fragrant tree gave shade to Israel, by the command of God.

9For God will lead Israel with gladness, by the light of his glory, with mercy and righteousness from him.
