Didache 15
Appoint Worthy Overseers and Deacons
Open in the reader →1Appoint, then, for yourselves overseers and deacons worthy of the Lord—men who are gentle, not lovers of money, truthful, and proven; for they too perform for you the ministry of the prophets and teachers.
2Therefore do not disregard them, for they are the ones honored by you, together with the prophets and teachers.
3And reprove one another, not in anger but in peace, as you have in the gospel; and let no one speak to anyone who sins against another, nor let him be heard by you, until he repents.
4But as for your prayers and your alms and all your deeds, do them in this way, as you have it in the gospel of our Lord.
