Ephesians 1

1Paul, an apostle of Messiah Jesus by the will of God, to the saints who are [in Ephesus] and faithful in Messiah Jesus:

2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Messiah.

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Messiah,

4just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before him in love,

5having predestined us for adoption through Jesus the Messiah to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

6to the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he has favored us in the Beloved,

7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

8which he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight,

9having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in himself

10for the administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in the Messiah—the things in the heavens and the things on the earth—in him,

11In him we also were made an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of the one who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

12so that we who had already hoped in Messiah might be for the praise of his glory.

13In him, you also, after hearing the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, in him, and after believing, were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14who is the down payment of our inheritance, toward the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

15For this reason, I also, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

16I do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

17that the God of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,

18having the eyes of your heart enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of the glory of his inheritance among the saints,

19and what is the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of the might of his strength

20which he worked in the Messiah when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

21far above every rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

22And he subjected all things under his feet, and gave him as head over all things to the church,

23which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in all.
