Exodus 31
God Chooses Craftsmen for Tabernacle
Open in the reader →1Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
See, I have called by name Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge, and with every kind of craftsmanship,
to devise designs, to work in gold and in silver and in bronze,
in the cutting of stone for setting, and in the carving of wood, to do every kind of work,
And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the heart of everyone wise of heart I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded you.
the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furnishings of the tent—
and the table with its utensils, and the pure lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense,
and the altar of burnt offering, with all its utensils, and the basin with its stand,
and the finely woven garments, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for serving as priests,
and the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense for the holy place. They shall make them according to all that I have commanded you.
And the LORD said to Moses, saying,
And you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘Surely you shall keep my Sabbaths, for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, so that you may know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies you.’
You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Whoever profanes it shall surely be put to death, for whoever does work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people.
Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to Yahweh. Whoever does work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.
So the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant.
It is a sign forever between me and the sons of Israel, for in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he ceased and was refreshed.
And when he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, he gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.
