Ezekiel 39
Gog Destroyed Nations Know LORD
Open in the reader →1And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say: Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.
I will turn you around, lead you on, bring you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel.
And I will strike your bow from your left hand, and I will make your arrows fall from your right hand.
On the mountains of Israel you will fall—you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you. I have given you as food to every kind of bird of prey and to the wild animals of the field.
You will fall on the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.
And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live securely in the coastlands, and they will know that I am Yahweh.
And I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will no longer let my holy name be profaned; and the nations will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.
Behold, it is coming, and it will happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.
Then the inhabitants of the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them—the small shield and the large shield, the bow and the arrows, the hand-club and the spear—and they will make fires with them for seven years.
They will not carry wood from the field, nor cut it from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons. They will plunder those who plundered them and loot those who looted them, declares the Lord Yahweh.
And it will be in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea; and it will block the travelers. There they will bury Gog and all his multitude, and they will call it the Valley of Hamon-gog.
The house of Israel will bury them for seven months, in order to cleanse the land.
All the people of the land will bury them, and it will be to their renown on the day I glorify myself, declares the Lord GOD.
And they will set apart men continually, who will pass through the land burying those who pass through, those left on the surface of the land, to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search.
And those who pass through the land will pass through, and when one sees a human bone, he will set up a marker beside it until the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog.
And the name of the city will also be Hamonah. Thus they will cleanse the land.
And you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: Say to every bird of every wing and to every beast of the field, ‘Gather yourselves and come; assemble from all around to my sacrifice that I am sacrificing for you, a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood.’
You will eat the flesh of mighty men, and you will drink the blood of the princes of the earth—rams, lambs, male goats, and bulls, all of them fattened ones of Bashan.
You will eat fat until you are full, and you will drink blood to drunkenness, from my sacrifice that I have sacrificed for you.
And you will be filled at my table with horse and chariot, mighty man and every man of war, declares the Lord GOD.
And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations will see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them.
And the house of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God from that day onward.
And the nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity, because they acted unfaithfully against me; so I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.
According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I dealt with them, and I hid my face from them.
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob, and I will have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name.
They will bear their shame and all their unfaithfulness by which they were unfaithful to me, when they dwell securely on their land with no one to make them afraid.
when I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, and I am shown holy through them before the eyes of many nations.
Then they will know that I am Yahweh their God, when I exiled them among the nations and then gathered them onto their own land, and I will leave none of them there any longer.
And I will no longer hide my face from them, when I have poured out my Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.
