Isaiah 35

1The wilderness and the dry land will rejoice; the desert plain will be glad and blossom like the crocus.

2It will blossom abundantly and rejoice—yes, with rejoicing and a shout of joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of Yahweh, the majesty of our God.

3Strengthen weak hands, and make firm feeble knees.

4Say to those with an anxious heart, “Be strong; do not fear. Look, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; he himself will come and save you.”

5Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be opened.

6Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing for joy; for waters have burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert plain.

7The burning sand will become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down, there will be grass, reeds, and rushes.

8And there shall be a highway there, and a road, and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for them; whoever walks on the way—even fools—shall not go astray.

9No lion will be there, and no ravenous beast will go up on it; it will not be found there, but the redeemed will walk there.

10And the redeemed of Yahweh will return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy will be upon their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
