Job 26

1Then Job answered and said:

2How you have helped one without power! How you have saved an arm without strength!

3How you have counseled one without wisdom and made sound wisdom known in abundance!

4To whom have you declared words, and whose breath has come out from you?

5The departed spirits tremble beneath the waters and those who dwell in them.

6Sheol lies naked before him, and Abaddon has no covering.

7He stretches out the north over emptiness; he hangs the earth on nothing.

8He binds up the waters in his clouds, yet the cloud is not split open under them.

9He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his cloud over it.

10He inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters, at the boundary of light and darkness.

11The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.

12By his power he stirred up the sea, and by his understanding he shattered Rahab.

13By his breath the heavens became fair; his hand formed the fleeing serpent.

14Look, these are the fringes of his ways, and what a mere whisper we hear of him! But the thunder of his power—who can understand it?
