Psalms 30

A psalm. A song for the dedication of the house. Of David.

1I will exalt you, O Yahweh, because you have drawn me up and have not let my enemies rejoice over me.

2O Yahweh my God, I cried out to you, and you healed me.

3O Yahweh, you brought my life up from Sheol; you kept me alive from among those going down to the pit.

4Sing praise to Yahweh, you his faithful ones, and give thanks in remembrance of his holiness.

5For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.

6As for me, I said in my security, “I will never be shaken.”

7O Yahweh, by your favor you made my mountain stand strong; when you hid your face, I was dismayed.

8To you, O Yahweh, I call, and to my Lord I plead for mercy.

9What profit is there in my blood, in my going down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it declare your faithfulness?

10Hear, O Yahweh, and be gracious to me; O Yahweh, be my helper.

11You turned my mourning into dancing for me; you untied my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.

12so that glory may sing praise to you and not be silent. O Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
