Psalms 36

For the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of Yahweh.

1Within my heart, transgression speaks to the wicked: there is no fear of God before his eyes.

2For he flatters himself in his own eyes too much to find his iniquity and hate it.

3The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has stopped acting wisely and doing good.

4He devises wickedness on his bed; he takes his stand on a path that is not good; he does not reject evil.

5O Yahweh, your steadfast love is in the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are a great deep. O Yahweh, you save man and beast.

7How precious is your steadfast love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8They are filled from the richness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.

9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

10Continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12There the evildoers have fallen; they are thrust down and cannot rise.
