Romans 12

1Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—your reasonable worship.

2And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what the will of God is—the good and pleasing and perfect.

3For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a measure of faith.

4For just as in one body we have many members, but the members do not all have the same function,

5so we, though many, are one body in Messiah, and individually members of one another.

6But having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: if prophecy, in proportion to faith;

7if service, in service; if the one teaching, in teaching;

8if exhorting, in exhortation; the one who shares, with generosity; the one who leads, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

9Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

10In brotherly love, be affectionate toward one another; in honor, outdo one another.

11Do not be lazy in zeal; be fervent in spirit; serve the Lord.

12rejoicing in hope, enduring in affliction, persisting in prayer,

13sharing in the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

15Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.

16Be of the same mind toward one another; do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the lowly. Do not become wise in your own sight.

17Repaying no one evil for evil, but taking thought for what is good in the sight of all people.

18If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all people.

19Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath, for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”

20But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on his head.

21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
