Testament of Asher 7

Prophecy Promises Hope Despite Judgment

Open in the reader →

1Do not be like Sodom, which did not recognize the angels of the Lord, and perished forever.

2For I know that you will sin and be handed over into the hands of your enemies, and your land will be made desolate, and your holy things destroyed, and you will be scattered to the four corners of the earth, and you will be in the dispersion, despised like useless water.

3Until the Most High visits the earth, himself coming as a man, eating and drinking with men, and crushing the head of the dragon upon the water; this one will save Israel and all the nations [God appearing as a man].

4Therefore, my children, you also tell these things to your children, so that they may not disobey him.

5For I know that, by disobeying, you will disobey, and by acting ungodly, you will act ungodly, paying no attention to the law of God, but being corrupted by wickedness through the commandments of men.

6And because of this you will be scattered, like Gad and Dan, my brothers, and you will not know their land, tribe, and language.

7But the Lord will gather you in faith through his compassion, and through Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.
