Testament of Joseph 20

1For I know that after my death the Egyptians will oppress you, but God will execute your vengeance and bring you into the promises of your fathers.

2And you shall carry up my bones with you. For when my bones are taken up there, the Lord will be with you in light, and Beliar will be with the Egyptians in darkness.

3And bring Aseneth your mother [to the Hippodrome], and bury her near Rachel my mother.

4And after saying these things, he stretched out his feet and fell asleep in a good sleep.

5And you shall carry up my bones with you. For when my bones are taken up there, the Lord will be with you in light, and Beliar will be with the Egyptians in darkness.

7And all Israel and all Egypt mourned him with great mourning.

8And in the exodus of the sons of Israel from Egypt they gathered up the bones of Joseph, and buried him in Hebron with his fathers; and the years of his life were one hundred and ten years.

9And after saying these things, he stretched out his feet and fell asleep in a beautiful sleep.

10And all Israel and all Egypt mourned him with great mourning.

11For his kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, which will not pass away. But my kingdom among you will be brought to completion, like a watchman’s hut in an orchard, which vanishes after the summer.
