Testament of Zebulun 7
Zebulun Urges Simple-hearted Generosity
Open in the reader →1I stretched a sheet on another upright beam in the middle.
3And I was walking along the shore, fishing for fish for my father's house until we came to Egypt.
4And from my catch, showing compassion, I shared with every stranger.
5If anyone was a foreigner, or sick, or aged, after boiling the fish and preparing them well, I would offer them to each according to need, suffering with them and feeling their pain.
6For this reason the Lord also filled me with many fish in the catch of fish. For the one who shares with his neighbor receives many times more from the Lord.
7For five years, then, I fished, sharing with everyone I had seen, and providing for all my father’s house.
8Half of it I would set aside in winter with my brothers. But if you do not have anything to give to the one in need, suffer with him in inward parts of mercy. I know that my own hand did not find anything to give to the one in need, and walking together with him for seven stadia I would weep; and my inward parts turned toward him in sympathy.
