1 Enoch 108

1Another book that Enoch wrote for his son Methuselah, and for those who will come after him and keep the ordinance in the latter days.

2You who have done good, wait for those days until those who do evil are brought to an end, and the power of the sinners comes to an end.

3But you, wait until sin passes away; for their names will be blotted out from the book of life and from the books of the holy ones, and their offspring will be destroyed forever. And their spirits will be slain, and they will cry out and lament in a desolate place that is unseen, and in burning fire; for there is no earth there.

4And there I saw something like an invisible cloud, for because of its depth I was unable to look upon it; and I saw a flame of fire burning gloriously, and something like glorious mountains was circling and moving this way and that way.

5And I asked the two holy angels who were with me, and I said to him, “What is this glorious thing? For it is not heaven, but only a burning flame of fire, and the sound of weeping and crying out and lamentation and grievous pain.”

6And he said to me, “This is the place that you see: here the spirits of sinners and blasphemers and those who do evil will be cast, and those who twist everything that the Lord has spoken by the mouth of the prophets—all the things that are to be done.”

7For there are writings and records concerning them in heaven above, so that the angels may read them and know what will come upon the sinners, and upon the humble in spirit, and upon those who afflicted their bodies and received recompense from God, and those who were put to shame by evil men.

8those who love God, and did not love gold or silver or any of the good things that are in the world, but gave their bodies to affliction.

9those who, from the time they came to be, did not desire the food that is on the earth, but regarded their souls as a passing breath, and kept this, and the Lord tested them greatly, and their spirits were found pure, so that they might bless his name.

10And I have spoken of all their blessings in the books, and he has rewarded them themselves, because these are found to love heaven more than their life in the world; and while they are trodden down by evil men, they hear from them abuse and reviling and are put to shame while blessing me.

11And now I will summon the spirits of the good ones from the generation of light, and I will transform those who were born in darkness, who in their flesh were not repaid with honor as their faith deserved.

12And I will bring out into bright light those who loved my holy name, and I will seat each one on the throne of his glory.

13And they will shine in times without number, for the righteousness belongs to God; for he will give faith to the faithful in the dwelling of the paths of uprightness.

14And they will see those who were born in darkness cast into darkness, while the righteous shine.

15And the sinners will cry out and see them while they shine, and they themselves will go to where the days and the times have been written down for them. The vision of the hidden things of Enoch.
