1 Enoch 12
Enoch Confronts Fallen Watchers
Open in the reader →1Before these matters, Enoch had been hidden. No human being knew where he had been hidden, where he was, or what had happened.
2All his work was with the Watchers, and his days were with the holy ones.
3I, Enoch, was blessing the Lord of majesty and the King of eternity. Then the Watchers called to me, Enoch the scribe, and said to me:
4Enoch, scribe of righteousness, go and tell the Watchers of heaven, who left the high heaven—the holy, eternal dwelling place—and defiled themselves with women, acted as human beings do, took wives for themselves, and became deeply corrupt on the earth.
5They will have neither peace nor forgiveness of sins.
6And because they delight in their children, they will see their loved ones killed. They will cry out over the loss of their children and plead forever, but they will have neither mercy nor peace.
