1 Enoch 18

1And I saw the storehouses of all the winds, and I saw how with them he adorned all creation and the foundations of the earth.

2And I saw the cornerstone of the earth, and I saw the four winds that bear up the earth and the firmament of heaven.

3And I saw how the winds stretch out the height of heaven, and they stand between heaven and earth; these are the pillars of heaven.

4And I saw the winds that turn heaven and cause the disk of the sun and all the stars to set.

5I saw the winds over the earth carrying the clouds. I saw the paths of the angels. At the edge of the earth I saw the firmament of heaven above.

6And I passed toward the south, and I saw a place burning day and night, where there were seven mountains of precious stone, three toward the east and three toward the south.

7And those toward the east were of colored stone, and one was of pearl stone and one of healing stone; and those toward the south were of red stone.

8And the middle one reached to heaven, like the throne of the Lord, made of a stone called puk; and the top of the throne was of sapphire stone.

9I saw burning fire and what lay within all the mountains.

10And there I saw a place beyond the great earth; there the heavens gather together.

11And I saw a deep chasm with its columns of heavenly fire, and I saw among them columns of fire descending; they had no number, from above and from below.

12Beyond that chasm I saw a place with no heaven covering it above, and no foundation of earth beneath it. There was no water above it and no birds; it was an empty and terrifying place.

13There I saw seven stars like great burning mountains, and I asked about them.

14The angel said, “This is the place of the end of heaven and earth; this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven.”

15“And the stars that roll over the fire are those that transgressed the command of the Lord before their dawn, because they did not come at their appointed time.”

16He was angry with them and bound them until the time when their sin would come to an end—for ten thousand years.
