1 Enoch 24

1From there I went to another place on the earth, and he showed me a mountain of fire that blazed day and night.

2I went toward it and looked at seven magnificent mountains, each different from another, with precious, beautiful stones. Their appearance was altogether splendid and glorious, and their faces were beautiful: three toward the east, firmly set one upon another, and three toward the south, one upon another. There were deep, winding valleys, which did not come close to one another.

3The seventh mountain was in their midst; their height resembled a throne-seat, and fragrant trees surrounded it.

4Among them was a tree whose scent I had never smelled; there was none among them, nor any other, like it. Its fragrance surpassed every fragrance. Its leaves, blossoms, and wood never withered; its fruit was beautiful, and its fruit was like a cluster of dates.

5Then I said, “This tree is beautiful and lovely to look at. Its leaves are beautiful, and its fruit is very pleasing in appearance.”

6Then Michael, one of the holy and glorious angels, who was with me and was over them, answered me.
