1 Enoch 25

1He said to me, “Enoch, why do you ask about the fragrance of this tree and inquire so that you may know?”

2Then I, Enoch, answered him, “I want to know about everything, but especially about this tree.”

3He answered, “This high mountain that you saw, whose summit resembles a throne, is the Lord’s throne. There the Holy and Great One, the Lord of glory, the eternal King, will sit when he comes down to visit the earth for good.”

4“As for this fragrant tree, no mortal has authority to touch it until the great judgment, when he takes vengeance on all and brings everything to its final end. Then it will be given to the righteous and humble.”

5“From its fruit, life will be given to the chosen, and it will be planted toward the north in a holy place, toward the house of the Lord, the eternal King.”

6“Then they will rejoice with joy and be glad in the holy place. They will enter, with its fragrance in their bones. They will live a long life on the earth, as your ancestors lived; in their days sorrow, weariness, suffering, and scourging will not touch them.”

7Then I blessed the God of glory, the eternal King, because he had prepared such things for righteous people, had created them in this way, and said that he would give them to them.
