1 Enoch 46

1There I saw the one called the Head of Days, whose head was like white wool. With him was another whose face had a human appearance, full of grace like one of the holy angels.

2I asked one of the angels who walked with me and showed me all the hidden things about that son of man: who he was, where he came from, and why he walked with the Head of Days.

3He answered me, “This is the son of man who has righteousness. Righteousness has dwelt with him, and he uncovers all the hidden storehouses, because the Lord of Spirits has chosen him. His portion has prevailed before the Lord of Spirits in uprightness forever.”

4“This son of man whom you saw will raise kings and the mighty from their beds, and the strong from their thrones. He will loosen the bridles of the strong and crush the teeth of sinners.”

5“[He will overthrow kings from their thrones and from their kingdoms,] because they do not exalt him or praise him, and do not acknowledge where their kingdom was given to them from.”

6“He will cast down the faces of the strong and fill them with shame. Darkness will be their dwelling, and worms their bed. They will not hope to rise from their beds, because they do not exalt the name of the Lord of Spirits.”

7“They are the ones who judge the stars of heaven. They raise their hands toward the Most High, walk on dry land, and dwell in it. All their deeds display injustice; their strength rests in their wealth. Their faith has been in the gods they made with their own hands, and they deny the name of the Lord of Spirits.”

8“They persecute the houses of his assembly and the faithful who cling to the name of the Lord of Spirits.”
