1 Enoch 71

1And after this it happened: my spirit was taken up, and it ascended into the heavens; and I saw the sons of the holy angels walking upon a flame of fire, and their garments were white, and their faces shone like snow.

2I saw two rivers of fire, and the light of that fire shone like yaḥent. I fell on my face before the Lord of Spirits.

3And the angel Mika'el, one of the chief angels, took hold of my right hand and raised me up, and brought me out to all the hidden things; and he showed me all the hidden things of mercy, and he showed me all the hidden things of righteousness.

4He showed me all the hidden things of the ends of heaven, and all the storehouses of the stars and lights, from where they all go out before the holy ones.

5And my spirit was covered in the heaven of heavens, and I saw there, in the midst of that light, something built of stones of hail, and in the midst of those stones were tongues of living fire.

6And my spirit saw the enclosure that surrounded that house of fire, and from its four sides were rivers full of living fire, and they surrounded that house.

7Seraphim, cherubim and ophanim surrounded it. These are the ones who do not sleep and who guard his throne of glory.

8I saw angels beyond counting, thousands upon thousands and myriads upon myriads, surrounding that house. Michael, Rufael, Gabriel and Fanuel, and the holy angels above the heavens, went into and out of that house.

9Michael, Rufael, Gabriel and Fanuel came out of that house, with many holy angels beyond number.

10With them was the Head of Days. His head was like white, pure wool, and his clothing was indescribable.

11And I fell on my face, and all my flesh melted away, and my spirit was transformed; and I cried out with a loud voice ... in the spirit of power, and I blessed and praised and exalted him.

12The blessings that came out of my mouth were pleasing before that Head of Days.

13That Head of Days came with Michael, Rufael, Gabriel and Fanuel, with thousands and myriads of angels beyond number.

14That angel came to me, greeted me and said to me, “You are the Son of Man, born for righteousness. Righteousness has rested upon you, and the righteousness of the Head of Days will not leave you.”

16All will walk on your path, while righteousness will never leave you. Their dwelling will be with you, and their portion with you. They will never be separated from you, forever and ever.

17So there will be length of days with that Son of Man. There will be peace for the righteous, and an upright path for the righteous, in the name of the Lord of Spirits forever and ever.
