1 Enoch 82

1And now, my son Methuselah, I tell you all these things, and I write them down for you, and I have revealed them all to you, and I have given you their books concerning all these things. Keep, my son, the book from the hand of your father, so that you may give it to the generations of the world.

2Wisdom I have given to you, and to your children, and to those who shall be your children, so that they may give this wisdom, which is beyond their understanding, to their children throughout the generations.

3And those who understand shall not sleep, but shall listen with their ears so as to learn this wisdom; and it will be sweeter to them than good food is to those who eat.

4Blessed are all the righteous who walk in the path of righteousness and have no sin like sinners, in the whole count of all their days, while the sun goes on its course in heaven, entering and going out through the gates for thirty days, together with the heads of the thousands of the order of the stars, and with the four that are added, which divide the four parts of the year, which lead them and enter with them on four days.

5Because of them, people go astray and do not reckon them in the reckoning of all the world; for people err concerning them and do not know them exactly.

6For they belong to the reckoning of the year, and they are truly fixed forever: one in the first gate, one in the third gate, one in the fourth, and one in the sixth; and the year is completed in three hundred and sixty-four days.

7And the matter is true, and the reckoning is exact; for Uriel showed me the luminaries, and the paths, and the appointed times, and the years, and the days, and breathed on me—Uriel, to whom the Lord of all creation of the world gave command concerning the host of heaven.

8And they have authority by night and by day in heaven, so that they may give light upon humankind—the sun and the moon and the stars and all the powers of heaven, which return in their courses.

9And this is the order of the stars, those that set in their places, and in their times, and in their festivals, and in their months.

10And these are the names of those who lead them: those who keep watch and go in at their appointed times, those who lead them in their stations and in their orders and in their times and in their months and in their authorities and in their positions.

11And their four leaders enter first, those who divide the four parts of the year; and after them the twelve leaders of the orders, those who divide the months; and the three hundred and sixty-four heads of thousands, the ones who distinguish the days; and the four that are added with them, the leaders who distinguish the four divisions of the years.

12And these are the heads of a thousand: between leader and leader, six are added after the station; and their leaders make the distinction.

13And these are the names of the leaders who divide the four parts of the year, who are appointed: Milkiel, Helemmelek, Meleyal, and Narel.

14And the names of those who lead them are Adnarel, Iyasusael, and Elomeel. These three follow after the leaders of the orders, and there are two that follow after the leaders of the orders, which follow after all the leaders of the fixed stations, who divide the four parts of the year.

15At the beginning of the year, first rises and rules Melkiyal, whose name is called Tam'ade'eni and the sun; and all the days of his dominion, while he rules, are ninety-one days.

16And these are the signs of the days that appear on the earth in the days of his dominion: heat and warmth and calm; and all the trees bear fruit, and leaves come forth on all the trees, and the harvest of wheat, and the blossom of the rose, and every flower that comes forth in the field; but the trees of winter dry up.

17And these are the names of the leaders who are under them: Berkael, Zelbesael, and another who is added, the head of a thousand, whose name is Helyaseph. And the days of the dominion of this one are completed.

18The second leader after him is Helemmelek, whose name they call the Sun.
