Enoch 91

Enoch Reveals Future Punishments

Open in the reader →

And now, my son Methuselah, call all your brothers to me, and gather to me all the children of your mother; for a word calls me, and a spirit of uprightness is poured out upon me, so that I may show you everything that will come upon you forever.

And after this, Methuselah went and called all his brothers to him, and gathered his kindred.

And he spoke to them all, to all the children of righteousness, and said, “Hear, children of Enoch, every word of your father, and listen to the upright words of my mouth; for I speak to you and tell you, beloved ones: love righteousness and walk in it.”

And do not draw near to righteousness with a double heart, nor join yourselves with those who are of a double heart; but walk in righteousness, my children, and it will lead you on a good path, and righteousness will be your companion.

For I know that violence will endure upon the earth, and a great scourge will be carried out upon the earth; and all lawlessness will be brought to completion and be cut off from its roots, and every structure will pass away.

And lawlessness will again increase, and it will be brought to completion upon the earth; and every work of lawlessness and violence and sin will again take hold.

And when sin and transgression and blasphemy and violence increase in every deed, and lawlessness and wrongdoing and uncleanness increase, a great punishment will come from heaven upon them all, and the Holy Lord will come forth in wrath and in punishment, to execute judgment upon the earth.

In those days, violence shall be cut off from its roots, and iniquity together with deceit from under heaven.

And all will be given over with the nations, and the towers will be burned with fire; and they will be removed from all the earth, and they will be cast into the judgment of fire, and they will perish in wrath and in mighty judgment forever.

And the righteous one shall arise from their sleep, and wisdom shall arise and be given to them.

And from it shall be cut off the roots of oppression, and sinners shall be delivered up to the sword. From the blasphemers they shall be cut off in every place, and those who devise violence and those who commit blasphemy shall be destroyed by the sword.

And after this there shall be another week, the eighth, of righteousness; and a sword shall be given to it, so that righteous judgment may be carried out against the oppressors, and sinners shall be delivered into the hands of the righteous.

And at its completion, houses shall be chosen because of their righteousness, and the house of the great King shall be built in glory forever.

And after this, in the ninth week, the righteous judgment will be revealed to the whole world, and all the deeds of the wicked will depart from all the earth; and the world will be written down for destruction, and all people will look to the path of uprightness.

And after this, in the tenth week, in the seventh part, there shall be the eternal judgment [and it shall be executed by the watchers of the eternal heaven], a great judgment that will be exacted in the midst of the angels.

And the first heaven shall depart and pass away, and a new heaven shall appear, and all the powers of the heavens shall shine sevenfold forever.
