2 Chronicles 3

1Then Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where Yahweh had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had prepared, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2He began to build in the second month, on the second day, in the fourth year of his reign.

3These are the foundations Solomon laid for building the house of God: the length in cubits, according to the former measure, was sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.

4The portico that was in front of the house was twenty cubits long, corresponding to the width of the house, and its height was one hundred and twenty cubits; and he overlaid its interior with pure gold.

5He paneled the great house with cypress wood, overlaid it with fine gold, and put palm trees and chains on it.

6He overlaid the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold from Parvaim.

7He overlaid the house with gold—the beams, the thresholds, its walls, and its doors—and he engraved cherubim on the walls.

8He made the Most Holy Place, its length corresponding to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, six hundred talents.

9And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold, and he overlaid the upper rooms with gold.

10In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim, the work of an image-maker, and overlaid them with gold.

11The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: one wing was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, and the other wing was five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

12The wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

13The wings of these cherubim spread twenty cubits, and they stood on their feet, with their faces toward the house.

14He made the curtain of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and worked cherubim on it.

15In front of the house he made two pillars, thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each was five cubits.

16He made chains in the inner sanctuary and put them on the tops of the pillars; he also made one hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains.

17He set up the pillars in front of the nave, one on the right and one on the left; and he called the name of the one on the right Jachin, and the name of the one on the left Boaz.
