Colossians 3

Rise Above Sin Live Love

Open in the reader →

If, then, you were raised with the Messiah, seek the things above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God.

Set your minds on the things above, not on the things on the earth.

For you died, and your life has been hidden with the Messiah in God.

When Messiah, who is your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.

Therefore, put to death the members that are on the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.

In these things you too once walked, when you were living in them.

But now you also must put away all these things: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy speech from your mouth.

Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old man with his practices,

and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it,

where there is no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, servant, free, but Messiah is all, and in all.

Put on, then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord also forgave you, so also you must do.

And above all these, put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

And let the peace of Messiah rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh toward them.

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord.

Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they may not become discouraged.

Servants, obey in everything those who are your masters according to the flesh, not with eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

Whatever you do, work from the soul, as for the Lord and not for men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. Serve the Lord Messiah.

For the wrongdoer will be repaid for what he has done wrong, and there is no partiality.
