Didache 12
Help Travelers but Test Them
Open in the reader →1But let everyone who comes in the name of the Lord be received; then, after testing him, you will know, for you will have understanding of right and left.
2If the one who comes is a traveler, help him as much as you can; but he shall not remain with you except for two or three days, if there is a need.
3But if he wants to settle among you and is a craftsman, let him work and eat.
4But if he has no trade, according to your understanding make provision for how a Christian may live among you without being idle.
5But if he is not willing to do so, he is a Messiah-trader; beware of such people.
