Isaiah 56

1Thus says Yahweh: Keep justice, and do righteousness, for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

2Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who holds fast to it: keeping the Sabbath from profaning it, and keeping his hand from doing any evil.

3Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the LORD say, “The LORD will surely separate me from his people”; and let not the eunuch say, “Look, I am a dry tree.”

4For thus says the LORD to the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, and choose what I delight in, and hold fast to my covenant:

5And I will give them, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.

6And the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to Yahweh, to minister to him, and to love the name of Yahweh, to be his servants—everyone who keeps the Sabbath from profaning it and holds fast my covenant—

7I will bring them to my holy mountain, and I will make them glad in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar, for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

8The declaration of the Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel: I will gather still more to him besides those already gathered to him.

9All you beasts of the field, come to devour— all you beasts of the forest.

10His watchmen are blind, all of them; they know nothing. All of them are mute dogs, unable to bark, dreamers, lying down, loving to slumber.

11And the dogs are greedy in appetite; they do not know satisfaction. And they are shepherds who do not know understanding; all of them have turned to their own way, each one to his own gain, every one without exception.

12Come, let me get wine, and let us fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow will be like this day, great beyond measure.
