Joshua 16
Ephraim's Land West of Jordan
Open in the reader →1And the lot came out for the sons of Joseph from the Jordan at Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, through the wilderness, going up from Jericho into the hill country of Bethel.
2Then it went out from Bethel to Luz, and passed on to the border of the Arkites at Ataroth.
3Then it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, as far as the border of Lower Beth-horon, and as far as Gezer; and its goings out were at the sea.
4And the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.
5And the territory of the sons of Ephraim by their clans was as follows: the border of their inheritance on the east was Ataroth-addar, as far as Upper Beth-horon.
6Then the border went out westward to Michmethath on the north, and the border turned eastward to Taanath-shiloh, and passed it on the east to Janoah.
7Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, and reached Jericho, and ended at the Jordan.
8From Tappuah the border goes westward to the Brook of Kanah, and its end was at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim according to their families.
9And the cities set apart for the sons of Ephraim within the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh—all the cities and their villages.
10But they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the Canaanites have lived in the midst of Ephraim to this day and became forced laborers.
