Leviticus 19

1And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and say to them, ‘You shall be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.’

3Each man shall fear his mother and his father, and you shall keep my Sabbaths. I am Yahweh your God.

4Do not turn to idols, and do not make cast-metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.

5And when you sacrifice a peace offering to Yahweh, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.

6It shall be eaten on the day of your sacrifice and on the next day, but what remains until the third day shall be burned in the fire.

7But if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is a defiled thing; it will not be accepted.

8Whoever eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of Yahweh, and that person shall be cut off from his people.

9When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely reap the edge of your field, and you shall not gather the gleanings of your harvest.

10And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, nor shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner. I am Yahweh your God.

11You shall not steal, and you shall not deal falsely, and you shall not lie to one another.

12You shall not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

13You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you until morning.

14You shall not curse a deaf man, and before a blind man you shall not put a stumbling block; but you shall fear your God: I am Yahweh.

15You shall not commit injustice in judgment. You shall not show partiality to the poor, nor honor the face of the great; with righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.

16You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people. You shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am Yahweh.

17You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and you shall not bear sin because of him.

18You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am Yahweh.

19You shall keep my statutes. You shall not breed your livestock with two different kinds; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; and a garment of mixed material, shaatnez, shall not come upon you.

20If a man lies with a woman and has an emission of semen, and she is a servant woman designated for a man, but she has not been redeemed or given her freedom, there shall be an inquiry; they shall not be put to death, because she had not been freed.

21And he shall bring his guilt offering to Yahweh, to the entrance of the tent of meeting: a ram as a guilt offering.

22And the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh with the ram of the guilt offering for the sin that he committed, and he shall be forgiven for the sin that he committed.

23When you come into the land and plant any kind of tree for food, you shall regard its fruit as uncircumcised. For three years it shall be forbidden to you; it shall not be eaten.

24But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, for giving praise to Yahweh.

25And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may increase its produce for you. I am Yahweh your God.

26You shall not eat over the blood. You shall not practice divination or interpret omens.

27You shall not round off the hair at the sides of your head, and you shall not mar the edges of your beard.

28You shall not make any cuts in your flesh for the dead, and you shall not put a tattoo mark on yourselves. I am Yahweh.

29Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land become prostituted and the land be filled with depravity.

30You shall keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.

31Do not turn to mediums or to spiritists; do not seek them out, to become unclean by them. I am Yahweh your God.

32You shall rise before gray hair, and you shall honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God; I am Yahweh.

33When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.

34The sojourner who sojourns with you shall be to you like a native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.

35You shall not commit injustice in judgment, in measures of length, weight, or volume.

36You shall have honest scales, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37So you shall keep all my statutes and all my judgments, and do them. I am Yahweh.
