Leviticus 18

1And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘I am Yahweh your God.’

3You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes.

4You shall do my judgments, and you shall keep my statutes, to walk in them. I am Yahweh your God.

5So you shall keep my statutes and my judgments, which if a man does them, he shall live by them. I am Yahweh.

6No man among you shall approach any close relative of his flesh to uncover nakedness; I am Yahweh.

7You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, that is, the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.

8You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife; it is your father's nakedness.

9You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, whether your father's daughter or your mother's daughter, born in the household or born outside it.

10You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son's daughter or of your daughter's daughter, for their nakedness is your own.

11You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, born to your father; she is your sister.

12You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's flesh.

13You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is your mother's close relative.

14You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother; you shall not approach his wife. She is your aunt.

15You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son's wife; you shall not uncover her nakedness.

16You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness.

17You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. You shall not take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are close relatives. It is depravity.

18And you shall not take a woman in addition to her sister as a rival wife, to uncover her nakedness while her sister is still alive.

19You shall not approach a woman during her menstrual uncleanness to uncover her nakedness.

20You shall not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and so defile yourself with her.

21And you shall not give any of your offspring to make them pass over to Molech, and you shall not profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

22You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

23And with any animal you shall not give your lying to become unclean with it, and a woman shall not stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.

24Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these things the nations that I am driving out before you became unclean.

25So the land became unclean, and I punished its iniquity upon it, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.

26But you yourselves shall keep my statutes and my judgments, and you shall not do any of these abominations, neither the native-born nor the sojourner who sojourns among you.

27For the men of the land who were before you did all these abominations, and the land became unclean.

28so that the land will not vomit you out when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

29For whoever does any of all these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people.

30So you shall keep my charge, so as not to practice any of the abominable statutes that were practiced before you, and you shall not make yourselves unclean by them. I am Yahweh your God.
