Leviticus 2

Grain Offerings Burned Before Him

Open in the reader →

When a person presents a grain offering to Yahweh, his offering shall be of fine flour, and he shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it.

He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests, and he shall take from there a handful of its fine flour and some of its oil, with all of its frankincense. Then the priest shall burn its memorial portion on the altar, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to Yahweh.

And what is left of the grain offering shall be for Aaron and for his sons, a most holy portion from the food offerings of Yahweh.

And if you bring near an offering of a grain offering baked in an oven, it shall be of fine flour: unleavened cakes mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

And if your offering is a grain offering on the griddle, it shall be of fine flour mixed with oil, unleavened.

Break it into pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.

And if your offering is a grain offering from a pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

And you shall bring the grain offering that is made from these things to Yahweh, and he shall present it to the priest, and he shall bring it near to the altar.

Then the priest shall lift up from the grain offering its memorial portion and burn it on the altar, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to Yahweh.

And what remains of the grain offering shall be for Aaron and for his sons, most holy from the food offerings of Yahweh.

Every grain offering that you present to Yahweh shall not be made with leaven, for you shall not burn any leaven or any honey from it as a food offering to Yahweh.

As an offering of firstfruits you may present them to Yahweh, but they must not go up on the altar as a pleasing aroma.

And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt. You shall not let the salt of the covenant of your God be lacking from your grain offering; with all your offerings you shall offer salt.

And if you present to Yahweh an offering of firstfruits, you shall present your offering of firstfruits as fresh heads of grain roasted in the fire, crushed kernels from the fresh grain.

And you shall put oil on it, and place frankincense on it; it is a grain offering.

And the priest shall burn its memorial portion from its crushed grain and from its oil, with all its frankincense—an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
