Mark 16

1And when the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might come and anoint him.

2And very early on the first day of the week, they come to the tomb when the sun had risen.

3And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”

4And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was extremely large.

5And when they entered the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, clothed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.

6But he says to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, the one who has been crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look—the place where they laid him.”

7But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’

8And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

9After he had risen, early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.

10She went and reported it to those who had been with him, who were mourning and weeping.

11And they, when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, did not believe.

12After these things, he appeared in a different form to two of them as they were walking on their way into the countryside.

13And they went away and reported it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.

14Later, he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table, and he rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen him after he had been raised.

15And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to all creation.”

16The one who has believed and been baptized will be saved, but the one who has disbelieved will be condemned.

17And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues.

18They will pick up snakes, and if they drink anything deadly, it will certainly not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

19So then, the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

20And they went out and proclaimed everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message through the accompanying signs.
