Psalms of Solomon 17

1O Lord, you are our King forever and ever; for in you, our God, our soul will boast.

2And what is the span of a man's life on the earth? According to his span, so also is his hope upon him.

3But we will hope in God our savior, because the dominion of our God is forever with mercy, and the kingdom of our God is forever over the nations.

5You, Lord, chose David as king over Israel, and you swore to him concerning his offspring forever, that his kingdom would not fail before you.

6And in our sins sinners rose up against us; they attacked us and drove us out. Those to whom you had not promised it took it away by force.

7And they did not glorify your honored name; in splendor they set up a kingdom because of their arrogance,

8They laid waste the throne of David in arrogant usurpation. But you, O God, will cast them down and remove their offspring from the earth,

9when a man foreign to our race rose up against them.

10According to their sins you will repay them, O God; may they be found according to their works.

11God did not have mercy on them. He searched out their offspring and did not leave one of them.

12The Lord is faithful in all his judgments that he carries out on the earth.

13The lawless one laid waste our land, emptying it of its inhabitants; they wiped out young and old, and their children together.

14In the wrath of his splendor he sent them away as far as the west, and the rulers of the land to mockery; and he did not spare.

15The enemy acted in estrangement, in pride; and his heart was estranged from our God.

16And everything that he did in Jerusalem was just as the nations do to their gods in their cities.

17And the sons of the covenant prevailed over them in the midst of the mixed nations; there was no one among them, in Jerusalem, doing mercy and truth.

18Those who loved the assemblies of the holy ones fled from them; like sparrows they flew away from their nest.

19They wandered in wildernesses, that their lives might be saved from evil, and in the eyes of the sojourning community, a life saved from among them was precious.

20Those who loved the assemblies of the the pious fled from them; their scattering by lawless men spread over all the earth, because heaven held back from dripping rain upon the earth.

21The everlasting springs from the depths, from the lofty mountains, were restrained, because there was no one among them doing righteousness and justice; from their ruler to the least of the people, all were in every kind of sin.

22The king was in lawlessness, and the judge in disobedience, and the people in sin.

23Look, Lord, and raise up for them their king, Look, Lord, and raise up for them their king, the son of David, at the time you chose, O God, for him to reign over Israel your servant., at the time Look, Lord, and raise up for them their king, a son of David, at the time you chose, O God, for him to reign over Israel your servant., O God, for him to reign over Israel your servant.

24And exalt him in strength to shatter unjust rulers.

25In wisdom and righteousness, cleanse Jerusalem from nations trampling her in destruction.

26to drive sinners out from the inheritance, to wipe out the pride of the sinner like a potter's vessels, to crush all their substance with an iron rod.

27to destroy lawless nations with the word of his mouth, to make nations flee from before him at his threat, and to convict sinners by the word of their heart.

28And he will gather a holy people, whom he will lead in righteousness; and he will judge the tribes of the people sanctified by the Lord his God.

29And he will not allow unrighteousness to remain among them any longer, and no one who knows wickedness will dwell with them.

30For he will recognize them, that they all are sons of their God, and he will apportion them among their tribes upon the land.

31And no sojourner or foreigner shall sojourn among them any longer; he will judge peoples and nations in the wisdom of his righteousness. Selah.

32And he will have peoples of the nations serve him under his yoke, and he will glorify the Lord in a place conspicuous to all the earth.

33And he will purify Jerusalem in holiness, as it was from the beginning,

34for nations to come from the end of the earth to see his glory, bringing her weakened sons as gifts,

35and to see the glory of the Lord with which God glorified her; and he himself will be a righteous king over them, taught by God,

36And there will be no injustice in his days among them, because all are holy, and their king is the Lord Messiah.

37For he will not put his hope in horse and rider and bow, nor will he multiply gold or silver for himself for war, nor will he gather hopes from many for the day of battle.

38The Lord himself is their king, the hope of the mighty one in God; and he will have mercy on all the nations before him in fear.

39For he will subdue the earth forever with the word of his mouth,

40He will bless the Lord's people in wisdom, with gladness,

41And he himself will be pure from sin, to rule great peoples, to rebuke rulers, and to remove sinners by the strength of his word.

42And he will not grow weak in his days in his God, because God has made him powerful in the Holy Spirit, and wise in the counsel of understanding, with strength and righteousness.

43And the blessing of the Lord is with him in strength,

44And his hope in the Lord will not grow weak; and who can stand against him? He is strong in his deeds and mighty in the fear of God,

45Shepherding the Lord’s flock in faithfulness and righteousness, he will not allow any among them to grow weak in their pasture.

46With equity he will lead them all, and there will be no arrogance among them to oppress one another.

47This is the splendor of the king of Israel, which God knew: to raise him up over the house of Israel, to discipline him.

48His words are refined beyond the finest precious gold; in the assemblies he will judge the people, the tribes of the sanctified.

49His words are like the words of holy ones in the midst of sanctified peoples.

50Blessed are those who are alive in those days, to see the good things of Israel in the assembly of the tribes. May God bring it to pass!

51May God hasten his mercy upon Israel. He will rescue us from the uncleanness of profane enemies. The Lord himself is our king forever and ever.
