Psalms 105

1Give thanks to Yahweh; call on his name; make his deeds known among the peoples.

2Sing to him; sing praises to him; speak of all his wondrous works.

3Boast in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.

4Seek Yahweh and his strength; seek his face continually.

5Remember the wonders that he has done, his signs and the judgments of his mouth,

6offspring of Abraham, his servant, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones,

7He is Yahweh our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

8He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded for a thousand generations.

9which he made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac,

10He confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant.

11saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, the portion of your inheritance.”

12When they were few in number, very few, and sojourners in it,

13they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.

14He allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account,

15Do not touch my anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.

16He summoned a famine against the land; he broke every staff of bread.

17He sent a man ahead of them; Joseph was sold as a servant.

18They hurt his feet with shackles; he was put in irons.

19Until the time his word came to pass, the word of Yahweh refined him.

20The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.

21He made him lord of his house, and ruler over all his possessions.

22to bind his princes at his pleasure, and to teach his elders wisdom.

23Then Israel came to Egypt, and Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham.

24And he made his people very fruitful, and made them mightier than their adversaries.

25He turned their hearts to hate his people, to scheme against his servants.

26He sent Moses his servant, Aaron whom he chose.

27They performed among them the deeds of his signs, and wonders in the land of Ham.

28He sent darkness and made it dark, and they did not rebel against his words.

29He turned their waters to blood and caused their fish to die.

30Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings.

31He spoke, and swarms of flies came, and gnats throughout all their territory.

32He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

33He struck their vines and their fig trees, and shattered the trees of their territory.

34He spoke, and locusts came—and devouring locusts without number.

35It ate all the vegetation in their land, and it ate the fruit of their ground.

36He struck down every firstborn in their land, the first issue of all their vigor.

37He brought them out with silver and gold, and among his tribes there was no one who stumbled.

38Egypt was glad when Israel departed, for dread of Israel had fallen upon the Egyptians.

39He spread out a cloud as a covering, and fire to give light by night.

40They asked, and he brought quail; he satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the dry places like a river.

42For he remembered his holy word to Abraham his servant.

43So he brought out his people with joy, his chosen ones with singing.

44He gave them the lands of the nations, and they inherited what the peoples had worked for.

45so that they might keep his statutes and observe his laws. Praise Yah!
