Psalms 108
David Prays for Deliverance
Open in the reader →A song, a psalm of David.
My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music, even with my glory.
Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn.
I will give thanks to you among the peoples, O Yahweh, and I will sing praise to you among the nations.
For your steadfast love is great above the heavens, and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
Be exalted above the heavens, O God, and your glory over all the earth.
So that your beloved ones may be rescued, save with your right hand and answer me.
God has spoken in his holiness: “I will exult; I will divide up Shechem and measure out the Valley of Succoth.”
Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is the stronghold of my head; Judah is my ruler’s staff.
Moab is my washbasin; on Edom I throw my sandal; over Philistia I raise a shout.
Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me as far as Edom?
Have you not rejected us, O God? And do you not go out with our armies?
Give us help against the adversary, for deliverance by humans is futile.
With God we will do valiantly, and he will trample our foes.
