Psalms 114

1When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange speech,

2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

3The sea saw and fled; the Jordan turned back.

4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs of the flock.

5What is the matter with you, sea, that you flee—Jordan, that you turn back?

6Mountains, why do you skip like rams, hills, like lambs of the flock?

7Tremble, earth, before the Lord, before the God of Jacob,

8who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water.
