Psalms 122
David Prays for Jerusalem's Peace
Open in the reader →A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1I rejoiced when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of Yahweh.”
2Our feet were standing within your gates, Jerusalem.
3Jerusalem, built as a city joined together as one,
4There the tribes went up, the tribes of Yah, a decree for Israel, to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.
5For there are set thrones for judgment, thrones for the house of David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may those who love you prosper.
7May there be peace within your ramparts, prosperity within your citadels.
8For the sake of my brothers and my companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, I will seek your good.
