Psalms 25

Of David.

1To you, O Yahweh, I lift up my soul.

2My God, in you I trust; do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.

3Indeed, none of those who wait for you will be put to shame; those who deal treacherously without cause will be put to shame.

4Make your ways known to me, O Yahweh; teach me your paths.

5Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.

6Remember your mercies, O Yahweh, and your steadfast love, for they are from of old.

7Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love, remember me—for the sake of your goodness, O Yahweh.

8Yahweh is good and upright; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.

9He guides the humble in justice, and he teaches the humble his way.

10All the paths of Yahweh are steadfast love and faithfulness to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11For the sake of your name, O Yahweh, forgive my iniquity, for it is great.

12Who is the man who fears Yahweh? He will instruct him in the way he chooses.

13He will lodge in well-being, and his offspring will inherit the land.

14The counsel of Yahweh is for those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them.

15My eyes are continually toward Yahweh, for he will bring my feet out of the net.

16Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted.

17The troubles of my heart have grown; bring me out of my distresses.

18Look on my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.

19Look at my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred.

20Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

21May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.

22Redeem Israel, O God, from all its troubles.
