Psalms 3
David Trusts in God’s Shield
Open in the reader →A psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.
1O Yahweh, how many are my adversaries! Many are rising up against me.
2Many are saying about me, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah
3But you, O Yahweh, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
4I cry aloud to Yahweh, and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah
5I lay down and slept; I awoke, because Yahweh sustains me.
6I will not fear tens of thousands of people who have taken positions against me on every side.
7Rise up, Yahweh; save me, my God. For you have struck all my enemies on the jaw; you have broken the teeth of the wicked.
8Salvation belongs to Yahweh; your blessing be on your people. Selah
