Psalms 54

Save Me from Ruthless Enemies

Open in the reader →

For the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Maskil of David.

1when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Is not David hiding among us?”

2God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might.

3God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.

4For strangers have risen against me, and ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before them. Selah

5Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is among those who sustain my life.

6May evil return upon my adversaries; in your faithfulness, destroy them.

7I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will give thanks to your name, O Yahweh, for it is good.

8For he has delivered me from every trouble, and I have seen my enemies.
