Psalms 77
Man Cries Turns Remembers
Open in the reader →For the choir director: according to Jeduthun. A psalm of Asaph.
I cry aloud to God; I cry aloud to God, that he may listen to me.
In the day of my distress I sought the Lord; my hand was stretched out at night and did not slacken; my soul refused to be comforted.
I remember God, and I groan; I meditate, and my spirit grows faint. Selah
You have kept my eyes from closing; I am troubled and cannot speak.
I considered the days of old, the years of ages past.
I remember my song in the night; I commune with my heart, and my spirit searches.
Will the Lord reject forever, and never again show favor?
Has his steadfast love ceased forever? Has his word come to an end for generation after generation?
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Or has he in anger shut up his compassion? Selah
Then I said, “This is my grief: the right hand of the Most High has changed.”
I will remember the deeds of Yah, for I will remember your wonders from of old.
I will meditate on all your work, and I will ponder your deeds.
God, your way is in holiness; what god is as great as God?
You are the God who works wonders; you have made your strength known among the peoples.
You redeemed your people with your arm, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
The waters saw you, O God; the waters saw you and writhed; even the depths trembled.
The clouds poured out water; the skies gave voice; even your arrows moved about.
The sound of your thunder was in the whirlwind; lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.
Your way was through the sea, and your paths through many waters, yet your footprints were not known.
You led your people like a flock through Moses and Aaron.
