Psalms 85
Lord Restores People Again
Open in the reader →For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. A psalm.
You have shown favor to your land, O Yahweh; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people; you covered all their sin. Selah
You withdrew all your wrath; you turned back from the burning of your anger.
Restore us, God of our salvation, and put away your anger from us.
Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger from generation to generation?
Will you not return and revive us, so that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your steadfast love, O Yahweh, and grant us your salvation.
I will listen to what God Yahweh will say, for he will speak peace to his people and to his faithful ones; let them not turn back to folly.
Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so that glory may dwell in our land.
Steadfast love and truth have met; righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth will spring up from the earth, and righteousness will look down from heaven.
Indeed, Yahweh will give what is good, and our land will yield its produce.
Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a path.
