Revelation 3

1And write to the angel of the church in Sardis: These things says the one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works; you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

2Wake up, and strengthen what remains, which was about to die, for I have not found your works completed in the sight of my God.

3Therefore remember how you have received and heard; keep it, and repent. So if you do not stay awake, I will come like a thief, and you will certainly not know at what hour I will come upon you.

4But you have a few names in Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy.

5The one who conquers will thus be clothed in white garments, and I will certainly not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

6The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

7And write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia: These things says the Holy One, the True One, the one who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens:

8I know your works. Look, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut, because you have little strength, and you have kept my word, and have not denied my name.

9Look, I am giving some from the synagogue of Satan—those who call themselves Jews and are not, but are lying—look, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will know that I have loved you.

10Because you have kept my word of endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole inhabited world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

11I am coming soon; hold fast what you have, so that no one may take your crown.

12The one who conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never go out from it anymore. And I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.

13The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

14And write to the angel of the church in Laodicea: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.

15I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot.

16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit you out of my mouth.

17because you say, ‘I am rich, and I have become wealthy, and I have need of nothing,’ and you do not know that you are wretched and pitiable and poor and blind and naked.

18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be exposed, and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

19Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent.

20Look, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.

21The one who conquers—I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, just as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

22The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
