Testament of Benjamin 7

1Therefore, my children, I tell you, flee the evil of Beliar, because he gives a sword to those who obey him.

2And the sword is the mother of seven evils. First the mind conceives through Beliar, and these are its births: first envy, second destruction, third affliction, fourth captivity, fifth want, sixth turmoil, seventh desolation.

3Because of this also, Cain was handed over by God to seven acts of vengeance. For every hundredth year the Lord brought one plague upon him.

4For two hundred years he suffers, and in the nine-hundredth year he was made desolate; for because of Abel his brother he was judged in all evils, but Lamech in seventy times seven. Because to the end of the age, those who become like Cain in envy and hatred of brothers will be punished with similar judgment.
