Zechariah 6

1Then I turned and lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots were coming out from between two mountains—and the mountains were mountains of bronze.

2In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses.

3and in the third chariot, white horses; and in the fourth chariot, dappled horses, strong ones.

4Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”

5Then the angel answered and said to me, “These are the four winds of heaven, going out from standing before the Lord of all the earth.”

6The black horses in it are going out to the land of the north, and the white ones have gone out after them, and the dappled ones have gone out to the land of the south.

7And the strong ones came out and sought to go, to walk throughout the earth. And he said, “Go, walk throughout the earth,” and they walked throughout the earth.

8Then he called out to me and spoke to me, saying, “See, those going out to the land of the north have set my Spirit at rest in the land of the north.”

9And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

10Take from the exiles—from Heldai, from Tobijah, and from Jedaiah—and you yourself shall go on that day and enter the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, who have come from Babylon.

11Take silver and gold, make crowns, and set them on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

12And say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Behold, a man—Branch is his name—and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of Yahweh.’

13Yes, he will build the temple of Yahweh, and he will bear majesty, and he will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two of them.

14And the crowns shall be for Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Hen son of Zephaniah, as a memorial in the temple of Yahweh.

15And those who are far off will come and build in the temple of Yahweh, and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you. And this will happen if you diligently obey the voice of Yahweh your God.
