Enoch 106
Noah Named for Future Hope
Open in the reader →1And after some days my son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech, and she conceived by him and bore a son.
And his body was white like snow, and red like the blooming of a rose; and the hair of his head was like white wool, and his locks were beautiful. And his eyes were beautiful; and when he opened his eyes, he lit up the whole house like the sun, and the whole house became exceedingly bright.
And at that time, he rose from the hands of the midwife, and he opened his mouth and spoke to the Lord of righteousness.
And Lamech his father was afraid of him, and he fled and came to his father Methuselah.
And he said to him, “I have begotten a strange son, and he is not like a human being; rather, he is like the children of the angels of heaven. And his nature is different, and he is not like us; and his eyes are like the rays of the sun, and his face is glorious.”
And it seems to me that he is not from me, but from the angels; and I fear that a wonder might be done in his days upon the earth.
And now, my father, I am here asking you and petitioning you, that you should go to Henok our father and hear from him the truth, for his dwelling is with the angels.
And when Methuselah heard the words of his son, he came to me at the ends of the earth, because he had heard that I was there. And he cried out, and I heard his voice, and I came to him and said to him, “Behold, I am here, my son. Why have you come to me?”
And he answered me and said, “Because of a great trouble I have come to you, and because of a marvelous vision I have drawn near.”
And now, my father, hear me: a son has been born to Lamech my son, and his appearance and form are not like the form of a human being. His color is whiter than snow and redder than the blossom of a rose, and the hair of his head is whiter than white wool. And his eyes are like the rays of the sun; and he opened his eyes and lit up the whole house.
And he rose up in the hands of the midwife, and he opened his mouth and blessed the Lord of heaven.
And his father Lamech was afraid, and he fled to me, and he did not believe that he was from him, but that his likeness was like the angels of heaven. And behold, I have come to you so that you may make righteousness known to me.
And I, Enoch, answered and said to him, “The Lord will do a new thing on the earth; and this I have already seen in a vision, and I have made it known to you, because in the generation of Jared my father they transgressed the word of my Lord from the heights of heaven.”
And they will commit sin, and they will transgress the ordinance; and they will join themselves with women and commit sin with them, and they will take wives from among them, and they will beget children.
